FA2 Pensions administration

What effect would a period of sickness have on the basic state retirement pension entitlement?
If the person was claiming sickness benefit it would have no effect, National Insurance contributions are credited for such periods.
The National Insurance contribution record would be reduced for such periods so the basic state pension may be reduced if the necessary minimum credits are not achieved.
Periods of less than one year have no effect as National Insurance contributions are credited for such period. For periods over one year then credit will not be given so the state pension may be reduced.
Periods of less than 2 years have no effect as National Insurance contributions are credited for such period. For periods over 2 years then credit will not be given so the state pension may be reduced.
