Assessing Competence: MORTGAGES
Online assessment tool for assessing advisers’ mortgage knowledge and identifying areas for further training.
Assessment details
4 assessments of 15 questions. Each assessment can be taken once at any time over a 12 month period.
The assessments are graded as:
Grade A: Distinction 90% to 100%
Grade B: Score between 70% and 89%
Grade C: Score between 55% and 69%
No grading achieved - score below 55%
Question difficulty is set at certificate level.

Benefits
- For corporate purchasers there is no time consuming and costly administration required to maintain and administer your own question banks and testing process.
- A simple way to check and verify that advisers are maintaining the required level of knowledge.
- Immediate notification of results.
- Email sent to user on completion of each assessment detailing the results. For all incorrectly answered questions a list of the question(s), your answer(s), correct answer(s) and business area that question(s) covers. On request we can also arrange for a third party such as an office manager to be copied in on results.
- Automated printable CPD certificate produced showing all results and allocation of 15 minutes CPD time for each completed assessment.
- Firms can set their own targets, for example “Each adviser must take all the assessments and obtain at least 1 grade B (or above) over a 12 month period”.
- More stretching assessment targets can be set for each adviser the following year based on their previous results.
- Position in database advised on the results page after completing each assessment so user can compare their performance with others in the industry.
- Demonstrate to the firm and the regulator that advisers/technical staff are maintaining the industry benchmark technical competence requirements .
